Science Fair.....for many these two words will bring on some stress and worry, The Science and Technology Fair is designed to have students using their fantastic minds to explore and try to explain something about the world we live in or to invent something that might just make something we do a little easier... I will be giving guidance and support especially in terms of organisation and time management throughout the term to ensure everyone is on track and doesn't end up running out of time/doing an all weekend effort the week before things are due! - More info on Science Fair will be with students at the start of term 2!
Term 2 is almost upon us and will be another busy one with the Science and Technology Fair testing out the time management and inquiry skills of all students.

Hey everyone, I hope you are all having a good break and doing a few things you enjoy as well as treating your parents and siblings well! I am enjoying the break and have taken Oscar our 4 year old up to Warbirds over Wanaka which he loved as he is right into aeroplanes while Cherie held the fort at home with little Charlie and Harry I have been enjoying spending time with all three of our boys they are full on and lots of fun! I am just back from a weekend in Wanaka again where I competed in the Contact Epic MTB race - a 120km ish ride to the head of lake Hawea and back - It was pretty Epic alright - I took me 7hrs and 24min and along the way I stopped 2 times to load up on food and once to help another man and pull out some "MacGyver" tricks to fix his bike for him (I'm sure most of you won't even know who he is, but your parents should!) There is a small blip of video from the scenery in the ride from my phone below. Anyway I would love to hear how you are all getting on over the break - leave a comment below and let us know of anything you have done of interest or just leave a message to say 'Hi'. I will be sorting out some of our term 2 work this week and will post a few helpful hints in getting ideas underway for the Science Fair here in the next couple of days... I hope everyone is well, see you in a week - Mr S. Makayla had her Grandmother along to school on Monday with her Guide Dog 'Pai' - It was great to have Makayla asking some great questions along with other students to Sue. Sue spend about an hour discussing and answering questions about how her eye condition and blindness has shaped who she is and how she lives her life. Pai loved the attention from all the students! Thanks to Sue for coming along and talking with us, well done for organising this Makayla |
