Instructions of how to create the perfect Milo have been coming along very well with Miss Todd. Tomorrow we will be putting these into action with the "Tim Tam Slam" instructions. In preparing for this everyone must have their set of instructions ready to share along with their MUG. Check out below if you are having trouble remembering all the steps you must include in your instructions.. Well done Emily - A focused start to term 2 keep up the great efforts in all that you do. You have shown some great skills in our recent sign language learning also!
It was awesome to get into learning and using the NZ Finger Spelling Alphabet today as part of our acknowledgement and involvement in NZ Sign Language Week. All students are well on their way to learning and mastering the alphabet (some have got it already!) This week's spelling home work consists of students learning to finder spell the list of 10 words they have in their spelling notebooks - so I encourage everyone at home to have a go, all students have their own copy of the alphabet so get into it and enjoy learning the new skill - I know I am enjoying the challenge. I am looking forward to our visitor - Tom on Wednesday who is deaf and will be teaching the class more about sign language. click here to read more about it and other useful resources
We are underway with our Science investigations for the term. Our focus in class alongside getting science fair projects up and running is looking into "States of Matter" being the relationship between solids, liquids and gases. We had some fun exploring and discussing these today in class. Below is a bit of an intro clip we have used in class help explain what we are learning about... We had our Baseline testing for our May Mega Math Month on Monday morning at 9am... OUr baseline average was 45.6% so there is a lot of room for improvement. It has been great to see everyone making focused efforts in class this week on ways to improve basic facts knowledge. I am looking forward to measuring the first step of progress in our test tomorrow morning!
Below are some previous science fair projects that have caught my eye, take a look at the topics and presentation of these, it may help spark some inspiration for your work this term!!...Remember it isn't all about testing things, you can create or invent things to make life easier in some way or another.. |
